How much fuel do you bring?

The operator brings enough regular unleaded to reach a gas station in the Richmond metro. Once you can make it to a real pump, you should refuel properly - filling a vehicle from jerry cans is slow and you do not want to do it on a highway shoulder.

Do you bring diesel or premium?

Yes, with advance notice. Call, tell us what you need, and we match you with an operator carrying that fuel. It takes longer than a regular unleaded call, because the operator may have to fill up before heading to you. No kerosene, racing fuel, E85, or specialty blends.

What if I am on the freeway?

Stay in the vehicle with seatbelts fastened and hazards on. Tell us your closest exit number, the highway, and your direction of travel. Shoulder calls on I-95, I-64, and I-295 are routine work for the operators we dispatch. VDOT's Safety Service Patrol may also stop by if traffic is hazardous; that is normal.

What if my EV ran out of charge - do you bring electricity?

No. There is no equivalent of a portable charger that can give an EV meaningful range in a few minutes on the side of the road - the physics are different. If your EV is out of charge, the right move is a flatbed to the nearest charging station. That is dispatched at the standard EV-tow rate.

Do I have to be AAA to call for fuel delivery?

No. Quick Tow Richmond is pay-per-call - no membership fee, no waiting for enrollment, no need to be a AAA member. If you have AAA roadside, call them first since they will reimburse the call. If you don't, skip the annual fee and call us direct.
