A wheel-lift truck has a metal yoke that slides under the drive wheels and lifts only that end of your vehicle off the ground - the other end rolls on its own wheels. It is faster than a flatbed and fits into tight streets and lots where a flatbed cannot.

For standard FWD or RWD sedans, yes. For AWD, 4WD, or any EV, absolutely not, call for a flatbed. The spinning driveshaft or dragging drive motors will cause expensive internal damage on any vehicle with all four wheels driven or motored. If you're unsure, tell us the make and model and we'll say honestly which truck you need.

Usually yes. Wheel-lift trucks are built for narrow, one-way, tree-lined Victorian-era streets and tight courtyard driveways around VCU's Monroe Park Campus and the historic Church Hill grid. Text a photo of the street or entrance when you call and we'll confirm access before dispatch. A few of the tightest blocks mean the operator works from the nearest cross street - we can arrange that.

Wheel-lift tows are priced by the operator before dispatch, based on distance. Short-distance moves under 5 miles are usually the least expensive tow in the Richmond metro. You get the full number before an operator is dispatched.

Yes. Many batteries are just drained - a jump is sometimes all you need, no tow required. If the alternator is bad or the engine won't hold a charge, the operator jumps it to get it onto the truck and still tows. Either way, the tow covers both jobs.
